Laurel Klotz has a background deeply rooted in the veterinary industry. She was born and raised in California but moved sight unseen to Oklahoma in 2011. Upon her relocation to Oklahoma, Laurel worked as a practice manager and veterinary technician for a small animal emergency practice. In 2014, she had an opportunity to join the Midwest Veterinary Supply family as the Territory Manager and Equine Sales Associate for Oklahoma. Over the past 8 years, Laurel has successfully partnered with and managed equine exclusive, mixed animal, food animal, and companion animal practices.

 Laurel remains active in the local veterinary community. She is the Industry Representative for Murray State College Veterinary Technology Program, sits on the Advisory Committee for Mid-American Technology Center Veterinary Assistant Program, and is a founding member of Veterinarians Encouraging and Teaching (V.E.T.). She is the recipient of the OVMA Industry Representative of the Year Award for 2020 among other awards.

Laurel was married to Dr. Matt Klotz in 2016. They live in Oklahoma City with their 5 dogs, 3 barn cats, 2 horses, and 2 miniature donkeys at their ranch and home, Half Ass Ranches. In her spare time, Laurel enjoys cooking in the kitchen, spending time with family and friends, hunting, and all things coffee!

Dr. Trent Stites graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1994. He opened a solo mixed animal practice in May of that year. In 2000, he sold it to focus on equine practice and in 2007 opened McKey Equine Hospital in Sallisaw, OK where he currently practices. Dr. Stites and wife, Marcy, have two children, Ty and Taite. He also owns and operates a small stock cattle operation and team ropes in his spare time.

Dr. Carly Turner-Garcia is currently the head veterinarian at the Lazy E Ranch in Guthrie, OK. She is board certified in Theriogenology and her areas of specific interest are Advanced Equine Reproduction and Equine Neonatology. She graduated veterinary school from the University of Georgia, completed an internship at Rood and Riddle KY, and a residency at Texas A&M University. She has a passion for horses and teaching people about them. She and her husband also own Top Cat Genetics where they raise cattle, registered Boer goats; and train and trial working American Border Collies.

Dr. Brian Carroll was raised in Weleetka, OK in Okfuskee County. He grew up working on a commercial hog and cow-calf operation. Dr. Carroll obtained his undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (1980) from Oklahoma State University.

After graduation, Dr. Carroll practiced in an equine ambulatory and small animal practice in Las Vegas, NV. In 1982, he moved back to Oklahoma to practice at Equine Medical Associates in Edmond, OK. In 1990, Dr. Carroll became one of three founding partners of Oklahoma City Equine Clinic. Dr. Carroll has practiced medicine for many equine disciplines ranging from English performance to Western performance to Racetrack medicine. Currently, Dr.Carroll focuses his time and work on advanced assisted reproduction techniques.

Dr. Carroll is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, Society for Theriogenology, American Quarter Horse Association, and the National Reined Cow Horse Association.

Dr. Carroll and his wife, Cathi, have been married for more than 16 years. He enjoys raising and training pointing dogs, upland game hunting, raising reined cow horses, and spending time with his 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

Amanda Willis grew up in Cheney, Kansas. Her and her family raised Corriente cattle and produced Team Ropings. Dr. Willis and her brothers competed in rodeos growing up. She competed in breakaway roping and team roping. Dr. Willis received her Bachelor’s and DVM degrees from Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation in 2014, she joined a mobile equine practice and in 2018 joined the team at Oklahoma City Equine.

Dr. Willis is certified in Animal Chiropractic by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. Dr. Willis enjoys all aspects of equine medicine but her main interests include anesthesia, chiropractic, and wound management. Dr. Willis spends her free time with her family and attending equine events.

Dr. Willis had her daughter, Emerson, in December of 2017. Emerson is a bubbly young girl who has a love for horses at such a young age. Dr. Willis’ love for horses has been passed on to her daughter, who also loves attending ropings and horse sales as well.

Amber Pierce is the Senior Equine Territory Representative for Merck Animal Health, with a territory covering Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Southern Mississippi, and Northeast Texas.

Amber’s first horse, a paint mare named “Baby D”, was her sidekick in kindergarten, and she’s spent most of her free time in the saddle ever since.  She graduated with her bachelor’s in animal science from Michigan State University (Go Green!), has a Master of Science in Business Management and Leadership, and is a Professional Animal Scientist with an equine specialty with the American Registration of Professional Animal Scientists.

Amber is passionate about horses and the equine industry. She has shared her equine addiction with her two sons, Caden and Easton, and riding is now a family affair. She values the opportunity to serve as a V.E.T. Board Member, as she is excited about the future of equine medicine and her ability to play a small part in fostering successful, fulfilling careers for our future equine veterinarians.
