WET LAB OVERVIEW
Equine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Wet Lab designed to give veterinary students practical experience with skills commonly used in equine sports medicine practice. The morning will begin with two focused lectures covering lameness examination essentials, techniques for acquiring diagnostic-quality radiographs & ultrasounds images, & the fundamentals of equine rehabilitation & protocol development.
Stations
9:00am – 9:50am: Lecture
- Sports Medicine Essentials: Lameness Exam 101 & acquiring optimal radiograph & ultrasound images
10:00am – 10:50am: Lecture
- All Things Equine Rehab: From basics to protocol development
11:00am – 11:45am: Lab
- Taking radiograps
- Acquiring U/S images
- Equine Rehab: functional examinations & physiotherapy exercises
11:45am – 12:30pm: Lunch
12:30pm – 1:15pm: Lab
1:15pm – 2:00pm: Lab
